"Look What I Got" Link Up with The Tiny Heart & Penniless Socialite

Target is probably one of my favorite stores, mainly due to all the great deals I find. And taking into account that I live in an area where most people tend to purchase less trendy items and more practical items, I am always able to score the cutest pieces on sale. These shoes would be a prime example. They were only $10 and 70% off of their original price!

Also, considering I was able to score such a great deal I decided to do another "Look What I Got" link up with Penniless Socialite and The Tiny Heart. I wore this little number to my final presentations for school last week. I think it really is a good representation of my style and what I like from the gold accents, the bright pink floral dress, to the classic Chanel inspired jacket. Oh and did I mention, I love this jacket! It fits well, is a classic style, and keeps me warm--what more could a girl ask for? I purchased it from SadieBess Vintage's Etsy shop {first Etsy purchase, yay!}. Sarah has a great assortment of unique vintage pieces so if you are looking for something special that is reasonably priced, definitely check out her site!

I bought this dress at Khol's without trying it on. So when I did try it on, I realized exactly why it was on sale: the fit was awful. As you can see the bubble action going on above {the images make it look slightly more attractive than it really looked in person}. It was the perfect opportunity for me to rework it into a skirt. All I did was cut off the top and now I have a versatile piece to add into my wardrobe. And did I mention this piece was only $8.00!?

I am officially back to the blogging world, after a crazy couple of weeks at school! {Not sure how I made it through}. I am so excited for what I have in store for all of you. This repurpose project that I did above is the first amongst many others that I will share with you in the next couple weeks. I am basically revamping a good portion of my wardrobe to make what I already have more wearable. As I mentioned previously, I have been trying to spend frugally to save for my trip to New York. However, I do need to add some more bottoms to my wardrobe. So that is exactly what I am doing, without spending a thing! Yay! I am taking various items that sit in my closet and transforming them into pieces that fit better, work with current trends, and are more useful. Awesome, right?

This outfit is 100% inspired by Blair from the blog, Atlantic-Pacific, {seen here}. She has incredible style and somewhat of a style-icon in the blog world {and my opinion, in general}. She has that Jackie O. or Grace Kelly look--classic, elegant, yet modern. But of course, most of her clothing is designer, which means high price point. Here is my version that is much more affordable {yay}. 

Also, I just received these gorgeous shoes from Shop Bop today {on sale of course} and I love them. I have never bought anything on Shop Bop, but one of my favorite blogs, A's Fashion Files, had an amazing giveaway for $75 to Shop Bop and....I won!! So I purchased these gorgeous leather wedges, which are super classic and will last forever--the perfect addition to my wardrobe. Also, if you haven't checked out A's Fashion Files yet, you should because she has amazing designer inspired DIYs.

Last but not least, I have to admit that I am SO excited to be posting this look. It has been FOREVER since I have been able to give attention to my blog because school has been taking over my life. So I really hope you all like it, and that everyone is having a lovely week! xo
