Chanel Jacket

I wore this little number to my final presentations for school last week. I think it really is a good representation of my style and what I like from the gold accents, the bright pink floral dress, to the classic Chanel inspired jacket. Oh and did I mention, I love this jacket! It fits well, is a classic style, and keeps me warm--what more could a girl ask for? I purchased it from SadieBess Vintage's Etsy shop {first Etsy purchase, yay!}. Sarah has a great assortment of unique vintage pieces so if you are looking for something special that is reasonably priced, definitely check out her site!

Edgy Work Look

I must say, that I am so excited that I was able to put up this post! It has been WAY to long since I have blogged and I am not going to lie I have really missed it! It is my goal to make it a priority {even with my crazy schedule}. Do what makes you happy, right?

As for my outfit...I wore this look to work a week or so ago. Although faux leather leggings are not traditionally work attire, I think I was able to make this look more work appropriate through pairing these leggings with a tunic blouse, clean cut blazer, and some elegant heals, and a watch. I'd say it's a little bit more on the daring side, but sometimes a little risk isn't always a bad thing! Also, it was a perfect transition look into the evening--I just swapped out the blazer by adding a leather jacket. Simple, easy, and versatile--my kinda look.

I just wanted to mention a couple noteworthy broke girl tips that I incorporated in this look:

Use a tie belt from another garment to transform a dress.
I usually like to wear a traditional buckled belt with a dress like this, but decided to switch it up with a tie belt that goes to another dress. It is a great way to use what you already have and make it new.

Layer two (or more) necklaces to make it look like a new necklace.
I love layering these necklaces to lay one on top of another because it almost is a new necklace. And maybe you already layer your necklaces--well try something new! Always good to switch it up.

Wear something old, a new way. I originally wore this cardigan, which has a low scoop neckline and is cropped, buttoned up and paired with a tank top. However, it looks a little outdated when worn that way today. What I have done above is just tucked the top corns under. Rethink the pieces you already have clearly can be worth it.

Besides my little tips, I must mention that I am obsessed with these shoes I found. The see through effect is almost like an optical illusion that makes my legs look much longer than they usually do {a rare occasion for my short self}. I'd like to think they are my wanna be 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes or one of these designer pairs {here}. They have a touch of elegance that I just adore.

Also, who loves the kelly green and navy color combo!? ME! Especially in {these} J Crew pants. To die for!
