If you haven't noticed, I cut my hair! Back to short hair and I love it. It was the change I needed.

This last week we have been having great weather in California reaching the 80's. I totally took advantage of the gorgeous weather and spent the entire weekend outdoors.

As for my outfit, I went bold. And a little bit cheetah print crazy. But for a going out look, I thought it was appropriate. Going bold is always more fun anyways.

I hope everyone is having a great week! xo

Stripes & Boots

Steals & Deals: H&M dress, $12.95//Target Leggings, $8.00//Steve Madden Rainboots//Taxi Leather Jacket//Target Fedora, $12.99

I am finally back! After a crazy final quarter at school, I am officially a college graduate! It hasn't quite hit me yet, but I am pretty excited to start a new chapter in my life. And to get back to doing all the things I love, including blogging.

On another note, it's Spring and I couldn't be more excited! I'd say the weather has been pretty typical here in California. It will be in the 70's for a couple days, then rain the next. With that said, I have been layering up and trying to dress appropriate for the season and weather. Which can be pretty hard sometimes. Pairing boots with a dress is one of my favorite combinations. I have also been wearing wool sweaters under light jackets to be able to transition from being indoor or outdoor and weather changes. It is all these little tricks that make life so much easier.

I hope everyone has been well! xo

Aztec Print

Steals & Deals: H&M Blouse, $9.95// Target Tribal Shorts, $17.99//Steven Madden Sandals, $37.00 {on sale}//Ebay Keyhole Sunglasses $10.00//Coach Crossbody {Mom's closet}//Marshall's Necklace, $6.00

I wore this ensemble today, which worked out well considering how incredibly warm it was. I love the Aztec print and vibrant colors from these shorts. Which are honestly one of my favorite pieces this summer--considering they are extremely comfortable and fun! Also, I must note that I repurposed this tee by simply removing the puff sleeves to make it more wearable and current. There are so many pieces that we own that can be altered just the slightest bit to become more desirable. I absolutely love doing this because it allows me bring new life to old, neglected pieces. {And it's a great way to save cash!} So before you go shopping or think you have nothing in your closet, think about what pieces can be changed to become useful!

Also, I am excited to introduce you to my new blog design {that I did myself}! I am so glad that I actually pulled it off and was able to figure out how to code and make my ideas become reality! {Considering I am not a web designer, I feel pretty accomplished!} I really hope you like it, because I sure do.

Hope everyone has been able to enjoy these long summer days and nights! xo

Steals & Deals: Target White T-Shirt, $6.00//Klique B Cheetah Print Shorts, $32.99//Target Fadora, $12.99 {similar}//Thrifted Belt, $3.20//Target Sandals//Ebay Rounded Sunglasses, $10.00//Denim DIYed clutch
Chloe and Isabel Jewelry: Retro Glam Crystal Necklace

I wore this casual look downtown yesterday as I meandered and sipped ice coffee at my favorite spot. This outfit is pretty basic--just a white tee paired with patterned shorts. What really puts together this look and any look is through accessories. If I only wore this shirt with the shorts {removing all the accessories} it would look quite plain. With that said, don't leave the house without some form of accessories--it transforms a basic look to an amazing well put together one.

PS, isn't this historic downtown gorgeous!? I think so. And a shout out to my brother Andy for taking these amazing photos!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! xo

Neon

Steals & Deals: Target Neon Tee, $6.00//Target Striped Knit Skirt, $9.04 {sale}//Mootsies Tootsies Wedges, $23.99//Target Clutch, $10.99 {sale}//Ebay Cateye Sunglasses, $7.95

I am officially vacationing in warm San Diego with my family this week. I am so excited to just relax, soak up some sun and enjoy spending time with my family. I wore this {almost head to toe Target look} to brunch this morning. Nothing is more comfortable than an all knit look with wedge heals. Considering this season focuses on color, I must admit that neon pink and navy is one of my favorite combos {among many others}.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! What is your favorite color combo!?

Summer Essentials

It's finally summer and the weather is starting to get warmer, so I thought I would create a list of must haves. As well as show off some great pieces that are in trend this season. The list {for less} is as follows:

1) A great pair of shorts, or two. {here}

2) A cute clutch or cross body purse. A clutch no longer is only necessary for night, it can be worn at anytime and for any occasion.  {here}

3) Basics. You always have to have cotton basics & in neon, even better. {here}

4-6) ARM PARTY. Layering bracelets is a must. Check out some gorgeous chloe + isabel pieces {here} 4//5//6

7) A white blazer. White is a great color for summer. A white blazer is a summer must, and it can be worn this fall because it is going to be a hot basic then too! {here}

8) A great handbag. Honestly, that is an all time must. I just thought this bag was super cute and totally share worthy. Kind of looks like a want to be Celine bag, right!? Check it out {here}

9) Funky, retro glasses. Sunglasses are a great accessory to have considering they put together any outfit and protect your eyes from the sun. Retro style glasses are hot. {here}

10) Nautical stripped top. What says summer more than a white and navy striped top? Okay, this blouse from Urban Outfitters is a splurge, but so worth it. {here}

11) Strappy high heels. Such an elegant look, and every blogger has a pair. {here}

12) The right pendant necklace. Jewels are always a must, but I have been finding that you can never go wrong with the right simple, but elegant piece. {here}

13) Maxi Skirt. If you do not own a maxi skirt, you need to get on it. They are super comfortable and they dress up any look. If you haven't already, check out my Maxi DIY, it looks just like this one from Target but it only cost me approx. $10.00 to sew! If you can't sew, check out the Target version {here}.

14) Sun hat. I am totally obsessed with my hat, so I thought I'd share one from Target. Another great accessory for summer. {here}

Nautical

Steals & Deals: Thrifted A&F dress, $4.00//Thrifted Blue Sun Hat, $4.00//Thrifted Red Bag, $8.00//Target Turtle Sandals $24.99 {similar}

Pretty stoaked about some of my recent finds. Including this dress & hat for a total cost of $8.00! Really!? Yes. Dresses are my go to pieces this summer so I am glad I could add another to my collection. And this hat I think will become my obsession this summer. I know I am going to get a LOT of use out of it.

As for my "theme" look. If you couldn't tell from my title, this look is nautical themed. Nautical themed looks are perfect for summer considering they are easy to dress up and down. Plus many of the pieces needed for this style include pairing summer essentials {white blazer, white trousers/jeans, blue/white striped tee, red accessories}. So try it out, get on the trend bandwagon and look stylish while being extremely comfortable. xo

Okay so none of these pieces are from J Crew, but I'd say they sure look like it. Too bad, each piece is much much less in price. {My kind of style} I am seriously gushing over these ensembles. I want every single piece here! All three looks are perfect for a regular day, work, going out, a special occasion, you name it.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. xo

Plaid & Dots

Steals & Deals: Vintage Plaid Jacket, $7.50//J Crew Toothpick Cords {part of employee incentives}//Target Cateye Sunglasses $16.99 {similar}

I found this cute vintage jacket while thrifting, well really my dad found it. He spotted it at one of our fav thrift shops and insisted that I try it on. I love the vintage style, plus it was only $7.50 so I had to get it! Thrift shopping is the best, I always seem to find something.

Hope everyone has a great hump day! Few more days until the weekend. xo

Dare to be Daring

Steals & Deals: Club Monaco Knit Top $15.00//Vintage 70's Inspired Skirt $2.00//Target Fedora $12.99//Target Cheetah Print Peep Toe Pumps $24.99//Talbots Daisy Pin $6.00
Outfit Total: $61.00

Discovered this fun and a tad bit wild vintage 70's skirt the other day when I was thrifting. I wasn't too sure about it, but it was 50% off of it's original price making the price only $2.00. So I decided to get it and see if I could work it into my wardrobe. Well, I couldn't be happier with this purchase and this look!! This skirt is so much fun, and adds a fun quirk to what I normally wear.

Who else has found some great vintage pieces lately!? Please share!
