All week my phone has been blown up with New York Fashion Week pictures and updates. Eventually I said, "Screw it, I can pretend I am going!" And wore this look. I love the clean lines of the white blazer, the frills on the blouse {that somewhat mimic that feather trend that will be hot for fall}, that fun cheetah print clutch and my wild retro inspired sunglasses.

In my last post I mentioned that I am going to visit New York in a couple weeks. After booking my flight I offically decided to hold off on all purchases until my trip. I don't know about you, but sometimes I get in the habit of spending my money on meaningless stuff because it is convenient or I just can. "Did I really need that fancy coffee drink or to buy lunch!?" ...no!! So with a little bit of discipline and planning I wanted to share some of my new good habits that I have acquired to limit spending and save for my trip:
  1. Think about your day in advanced--will I get hungry? If the answer is yes, plan accordingly.
  2. Make coffee at home, or save coffee that was bought and not finished. Be resourceful with what you already have.
  3. Bad morning? Wear a cute outfit instead of buying a treat.
  4. Enjoy the outdoors for a break instead of grabbing a snack.
  5. Make your new spend less motto a priority.
I think what has really helped me is that I have a goal and I am always keeping that goal in mind when I have the option of spending. It is just remembering what you want. Do you want that small indulgence now or something else that is bigger, better and more rewarding in the future? It's always good to ground yourself and remember what you really want in life, whatever that may be.

I hope everyone has a good week ahead of them! Anything you have in mind that is worth saving for? xo

I love this look! It's so elegant and feminine and the top is so fun. I love your tips for bad spending habits too, at the time it doesn't seem like much but those little purchases add up quick! I've saved SO much money by not ever going out to lunch.
