Steals & Deals: Urban Outfitters Blouse//Gap Pants, $40ish {on sale}//Forever 21 Sweater, $20ish//Necklace DIY//Sunglasses, $10.00
Although it is fun to go out, shop and buy new things, there are many wardrobe pieces that seem to stick around. I have pieces that I still wear from three plus years ago. And it always suprises me because many of them are from Forever 21. It's just a reminder that higher price do not always translate to higher quality, although it is a common misconception. With that said, I am going to share a couple of my tips:
1) When you are out shopping, try as often as possible, to look at the labels. What is the garment made of? Rayon will pill, angora will shed. If it looks wrinkled at the store, it will stay wrinkled. Avoid very thin knit fabrics too. These are just some things that I have learned from my fabric classes at school and through working in retail.
2) Feel the garment. Better quality normally feels like better quality {Thicker, more structure, etc.} Have you ever felt Zara's garments? They usually feel stronger and better constructed. This is a sign of better quality.
3) Take care of pieces you love. I feel like this is a no brainer, but still important. I mean don't try to go through a field with your Target heels. They won't last.
I hope you enjoy my little tips and have a great week! xo

SO true! Many pieces in my wardrobe are years old and I still love them. And there are definitely some diamonds at Forever21. Great tips!

I love your tips, especially to not go through a field with target heels. Sadly, I don't even think you could go through a field with louboutins. I know they would get torn up as well- I know this because I ruined a pair just by resting the heels on a chair... :)

When I look in my closet, the pieces that last the longest for me are usually from Zara or the Gap. I just always like them for years and years.

Love the necklace. Very good tips. Though I find ZARA's clothing well-made in terms of quality of fabric, I find they have the widest variety of fit even within the same size of the same garment. For example, I tried on 2s in the same pair of pants and while one fit, the other didn't. Annoying!
